The eighth Summit Series on Cancer Clinical Trials, Retooling the System: Accelerating Solutions, took place September 30 through October 1, 2004 in Chantilly, Virginia. Summit VIII aimed to:
- Demonstrate the remarkable progress made by each Work Group since last year
- Energize and facilitate the ongoing efforts of the Work Groups by bringing participants together to collaborate on ideas
- Spark innovative ways of thinking through invited speakers and learn how to apply to Work Group activities
